Mentoring Course Faculty of General Dental Practitioners
I am pleased to report that I have completed my last assignment to satisfy the examiners of the FGDP of The Royal College of Surgeons of England for this course. Reflective writing was a new skill that I had to learn, but I have found the whole experience of mentoring, reflection and insight to be a liberating and transformative one. Mentoring is a process of learning about yourself and the people and world around you so that you can better manage yourself and others in any given situation. It is about realising your potential and a lot more besides.
The mentoring process can bring about a change for the better but for this to happen one has to be willing to change for as Gallileo said:
” you cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself”.
