What you should be looking for in an Implant Dentist
There are many factors you should consider when you are deciding on which dental implant dentist or practice should provide your dental implant treatment. The internet is an amazing tool for research and information gathering but at the end of this process you need a dentist to do your dental implants. Here are some of the things you need to consider.
Is the dentist or clinic UK based?
This will be readily apparent and you will need to weigh up the pros and cons of having implant dentistry abroad. There can be cost savings but you do need to factor in a lot of potential pitfalls before you make the decision to go abroad. Can you afford repeated return visits and time off work?
Is the advertiser a referral agency or a directory?
These can provide a useful service but you need to decide whether you would rather deal directly with the dental practice than with a directory or referral agency.
Is the Practice a recognised dental implant provider?
There is nothing wrong with any dentist providing occasional implant treatment but you may need more than this for other than simple dental implant cases. Would you rather have your treatment at a practice that does a large amount of implant work?
How experienced is the dentist?
This is probably the most important factor to consider. Ask how many cases the dentist has done, ask to see photos of cases, ask if other clinicians are involved and if any part of the treatment is be done at another practice. A good professional relationship and trust with the dentist is essential.
