Dental Implant Surgical Case – Tatum Institute Birmingham
On Friday 2nd December 2011 Dr Sheikh joined Dr Aghabeigi to perform dental implant surgery. The case was a fairly routine one in which a lower back bridge had failed after many years of use. The bridge had to be removed and was replaced by 4 dental implants. Bredent Sky implants from Germany
were used – the first time at the Institute. The patient was an execuitive who travelled a lot and needed a functional bridge on the day of the surgery. Therefore the implants were fitted with abutments that were prepared and then a resin provisional immediate bridge was made before the patient left the practice. This is immediate loading ie Same day teeth! Dr Faribe Younes was present and assisted in the restorative treatment.
The significance of this is that after the necessary preparation the failed bridge was removed, the implants placed and the provisional bridge all made in the same session with minimal interruption to the patient’s function or professional life.
