Temporary restorations are by definition not permanent and need to be removable to facilitate treatment. They may come off and need to be re-fixed periodically and this needs to be allowed for.
These serve many functions and are an important part of the treatment.
• They serve to restore the smile during treatment
• They serve to restore function during treatment
• They can act as a guide to implant placement
• That can serve as a very good guide to the final restorations in terms of shape, size, colour, speech etc.
